这次地震除了造成金融系统崩跌，作为横跨亚欧大陆的“世界咽喉”，土耳其强震还对大宗商品的运输造成了重大打击，能源最是首当其冲。

据悉，因强震引发爆炸的东南部哈塔伊省天然气管道当下仍在熊熊燃烧；同时，该国最主要的石油运输中继、每天出口100多万桶原油的杰伊汉码头亦是被迫关闭，来自伊拉克和阿塞拜疆的原油输送暂停；另外，挪威北海地区日产53.5万桶的约翰.斯维尔德鲁普油田一期停产。

受此影响，2月7日，国际油价应声上涨。
2月6日，国际能源署负责人表示，预计今年全球石油需求增幅的一半将来自中国，并称航空燃料需求正在激增。中国经济快速复苏和对燃料的需求也推动了油价上涨。长期以来，我国将油气供给保障作为一个重大战略问题来认识和把握，牢牢守住油气战略安全底线，以国内油气增产保供的确定性，来应对外部环境的不确定性。
中国石油方面表示，随着国内经济稳步复苏、消费市场明显回暖，中国石油进一步加大油气资源保障力度。
截至目前，今年中国石油累计供应天然气290.4亿立方米，同比增加1.5%，占全国供气量六成以上；日均供应成品油28.8万吨，同比增长2.1%；日均供应航空煤油2.2万吨，同比增长19%。
