近年来，我国油气管网基础设施加速建设，2023年，全国长输天然气管道总里程12.4万公里，较上年增加超4000公里，预计今年还将新增管道里程超4000公里。
在新疆，西气东输四线已完成吐鲁番至中卫段主体管道工程建设，今年投产后，西气东输年输气能力将提升150亿立方米。与此同时， 川气东送二线、虎林到长春天然气管道等管道工程也已在加速推进。
“十四五”期间我国将新投运管道里程近2万公里，不断扩大油气能源的供给量和覆盖面，加快构建布局优化、覆盖广泛、功能完备的“全国一张网”。
我国里程最长、覆盖范围最广的天然气管道——西气东输管道系统，自投产至今已累计向全国供气超9600亿立方米。珠三角地区天然气加快发展，近年来，年用气量以近10%速度增长，日均用气量近5000万立方米。目前，天然气“全国一张网”日供气能力超10亿立方米。
目前，我国天然气管网一次管输能力从2020年2230亿立方米增至2023年的3290亿立方米，增幅达到48%。
国家能源局日前发布的《中国天然气发展报告（2024）》显示，我国天然气基础设施加快建设，储气能力进一步提升。随着“全国一张网”互联互通的逐步实现，我国天然气供应体系能够更加灵活地响应市场和用户需求。2023年新增储气能力达到76亿立方米，全国液化天然气总接收能力稳定在1.2亿吨/年左右。
