9月11日，在2024中国500强企业高峰论坛上，中国企业联合会、中国企业家协会向社会发布了“中国企业500强”榜单，中国石油位列第三。
据榜单显示，2024中国企业500强营收规模迈上新台阶，达110.07万亿元，平均研发强度连续第7年提高，较上年相比增长1.58%，榜单企业研发投入总额占营业收入总额的1.90%，为2002年以来的最高值。其中，中国石油致力于持续加大关键核心技术创新攻关力度，着力打造新能源新材料研发和创新中心，首次进入波士顿咨询（BCG）“全球最具创新力公司50强”。
中国石油始终以保障国家能源安全为己任，大力提升勘探开发力度，全面深化国际能源合作，全力以赴完成生产经营各项目标任务，经营业绩连续三年创历史同期最好水平。
